To specify preprocessing options
When you specify preprocessing options, you must select a previously saved Settings file (.ini file). If the appropriate Settings file is not available, then you must create it. See:
For a Format Conversion Settings file, see To convert a sample file.
For a Barcode Sorting Settings file, see To parse barcoded sample files.
For a Sequence Operation Settings file, see The NextGENe Sequence Operation Tool.
1. Next to Preprocesses, click Add.
The Preprocessing Steps dialog box opens.
2. Click Format Conversion, Barcode Sorting, or Sequence Operations, as appropriate.
The Load Settings File dialog box opens.
3. Browse to and select the appropriate Settings file (.ini file) for the project, and then click Open.
The Load Settings dialog box closes. The selected Settings file is displayed in the Preprocessing Steps dialog box with an Edit option next to it. The Preprocessing Steps dialog box remains open.
4. Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 as needed to add all the appropriate Settings files (.ini files).
5. Optionally, do any of the following as needed:
To change the order of a loaded Settings files, select the file, and then click Up or Down as needed.
To remove a file, select the file, and then click Remove.
To remove all files in a single step, click Remove All.
To edit a loaded file, click Edit next to the file.

6. Click OK.
The Preprocessing Steps dialog box closes. The number of preprocessing Settings files that you loaded is indicated in parenthesis next to Preprocesses, and hyperlinks that identify each type of file (Format Conversion, Barcode Sorting, and/or Sequence Operations) are also displayed.

After you load at least one preprocessing Settings file, Edit is no longer displayed. next to Preprocesses. To open the Preprocessing Steps dialog box again, you must click a hyperlink for a Settings file.
